Nothing But Blue Skies Ahead | Melissa & Walter Wed

Isn't it funny how we can plan and plan and even plan some more, however, our plans can, at times, take on a life of their own.  Our plans don't always work out exactly as we hoped they would.  Is there something deeper here?  There are forces at work in our universe that can not be fought and we learn to succumb, bend, twist & turn, and make concessions.  It's these forces at play that keep life interesting.  If everything went exactly as we planned, there'd be no happy surprises for us to enjoy.  And I'd argue that those "happy accidents" can be some of life's most wonderful moments.  Wouldn't you agree?  The trick is to go with the flow, keep shining your light, find the humor and keep smiling - as much as you can!  Enjoy the ride, as I've heard coined before.  Makes complete sense to me!

As for those "happy accidents," this amazing couple you are about to see showed me once again that in the grand scheme of life what matters most is love.  Love is a guiding force, that pulls on us and leads our way.  Through every difficulty, and the stumbling blocks we face, if we set our compass in the direction of love, we meet the destiny that is meant to be ours.  The plans that Walter & Melissa made for their very special, sacred wedding day didn't go exactly as they had intended.  With pouring rain moving swiftly throughout our area, the outdoor wedding venue was ultimately forced to change to an indoor venue.  Their pastor had car trouble and ran late.  It seemed there was hurdle after hurdle for this happy couple.  Through everything, they kept their sense of humor, kept smiling and kept right on loving one another.  And I can say that I did not once hear a negative, disappointed comment.  Walter & Melissa are a remarkable couple so happily in love with each other their love radiates from them and spills out onto everyone within their general radius.  It was refreshing to be in their presence and to be honored to be their photographer.

Once the wedding ceremony was finished, we took the opportunity to visit the original location of their choosing for the ceremony to make some formal photographs, get some fresh air, walk the grounds, and take in the (yes!!) … blue skies.  Please enjoy a handful of the images that were created this very momentous, happy day.

Thank you ever so much, Walter & Melissa for including me in your special day!  It was a day not easily forgotten, and I am grateful that our paths have crossed.  It's not everyday that I am fortunate enough to witness and photograph such a deeply committed, loving couple.  I wish you and your family all the best in life, a continued resilience to life's obstacles, and that you maintain your sense of humor and glorious smiles!!

With gratitude and love,
