Derrick ~ high school senior ~

This guy is so photogenic, I tell you! He was a dream for this photographer! He made my job a complete joy! :) Thank you, Derrick, for being such a gentleman and for being crazy cooperative! For the record, you are the 2nd high school senior I have had the privilege of photographing (the 1st being my own daughter). I wish you every success in your last year of high school and as you embark on your journey towards college and the US military reserves, too.

This session was extra special for me. I knew Derrick's dad, Rich G. when we attended high school together (all those years ago ;) at a small rural school in Berks County, PA. When he showed up as we were wrapping up our shoot, and I got to give him a big hug, it was as if no time had passed. Isn't it funny how our high school days stay with us, maybe as a distant memory, yet such a force. Rich was always a great guy with a very warm, welcoming smile and he still has that terrific presence about him. It was an honor for me to photograph his son, and to meet his beautiful wife, Carrie. Thank you, friends! Your gracious trust is a gift to me.

All the best to you, my friends,
always,
Barb

and baby makes … life complete

There's just something so very dear and special to me when I do newborn, or newly born babies' photo shoots. For anyone who has experienced this part of life, you know what an amazing gift it is to give life to a child. Nothing can compare. So, when I am asked to visit a client-friends' home to photograph their new addition, I am completely, utterly honored. This provides an intimate chance to capture the first days of their new family life together. Here are some very favorite images of mine to share with you.

Thank you friends for this rare treat to spend a morning with you and your new baby boy. I am very happy for you and wish you many blessings as you embark on parenthood. It's not always easy, but it certainly makes life interesting and fulfilling.

Hugs and love to you :)
With great appreciation,
Barb

P.s. give Remi pats and rubs for me! What a character he is!! He's a great dog! :)

at home for Thanksgiving

I have to say that Thanksgiving is a favorite of mine.
Family and friends gather together, pray and offer thanks to God, contribute glorious food (including pie - thanks, Dad ;), and the fellowship that we experience is the greatest gift we give to one another.
It doesn't get much better than that!

We hosted Thanksgiving this year at our home. In between all the preparations, and making sure everyone was comfortable, I was able to take just a few shots. I missed my bro-in-law though (sorry, Brian!).

I hope your Thanksgiving was abundant, special, and filled with all your favorite side dishes and desserts, too!! ;)

I am thankful for you, my friends. You make life extra sweet.

With glorious gratitude,
Barb

Bridges and Family

I am getting caught up on my blog posts, finally. The past few weeks have been BUSY for me! :)) Whoop!!
I'm happy to have all these wonderful opportunities to photograph friends and some family, too.

Speaking of photographing family, here are a few of mine!

Though we are related by marriage, these folks are the kind of people you automatically feel that you've known your entire life.

I wonder if they remember the first time I met them. I sure do! My boyfriend at the time (now husband) took me to a Halloween costume party. I was dressed as an American Indian, and my crazy date was dressed as a nerdy, mismatched, goofus of sorts
(and yes, I still ended up marrying him!). What a pair we were! And talk about nervous to meet his family! You betcha!

My cousins through marriage, have been married for 33 years! Last month I was able to photograph them together as a couple,
as well as, with their beautiful daughters.
They are wonderful, generous people and I'm proud to know them all. :)

Here are a few of my favorite moments from our session together. . .

Thank you, family, for a great time together photographing, laughing, telling stories (I still need to see that spooky picture you were telling me about!), and for putting your trust in me. I am grateful to you.

Wishing you many more happy years together!!

With love and gratitude,
Barb

toddler time in the park

Meeting this little guy was such a joy for me! He was very interested in exploring and not so much in being photographed. I had been forewarned that he may not be the easiest person to cooperate for some photos, and to be prepared for anything. Well, I believe these small challenges in life are worth the effort!
So, please let me know what you think.
How did he do?

I hear he took a great nap afterwards! ;)

Thank you new friends for allowing me the privilege and the fun challenge of photographing you both. I enjoyed our time together, a great deal.

Happiness always,
Barb
